Construction projects evaluated

19.11.2020

On November 19, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got reported with presentation of construction projects for a number of facilities in the country.

The Imam Bukhari Memorial Complex in Samarkand region has been known of late to undergo reconstruction and expansion. Earlier, during his trip to the province, the head of state had noted the need for a comprehensively thought-out approach to the elaboration of the new design. Accordingly, the draft project was revised and refined. Now it provides for the construction of a large mosque, minarets and terraces, an alley, as well as hotels and other infrastructure along it.

Today, while attending the presentation, the President instructed the officials in charge to ensure quality construction of the complex in accordance with world standards, and create more conveniences for pilgrims and travelers.

Next, Shavkat Mirziyoyev was presented the design project of a new building proposed to erect at the State Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan.

In accordance with the draft devised by the world famous Japanese architect Tadao Ando by the order of Culture and Art Foundation under the Ministry of Culture of our country, a new three-story circular structure is intended to be raised next to the current building of the Arts Museum.

The need to construct a new building is due to the limited exposition capacities of the existing block; currently, only 3 percent of the exhibits can be presented. With the assembly of a new facility, the possibilities and area of the museum are expected to expand significantly.

The project for the reconstruction of the museum, reflecting contemporary trends and solutions in the socially oriented architecture, will preserve the historical value and integrity of the venue and come to be another ornament of our capital city.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev was briefed also on the design project of Tashkent Architecture and Construction Institute. During a trip to this institution’s new campus on October 16, the head of state noted the necessity to create a specialized cluster here and turn this area into a quarter of builders. To this end, the territory of the Institute was enlarged, and a new project was developed.

Thus, under the draft design, the campus is due to incorporate a construction college, a research center for building materials, a laboratory, dormitories, a sports complex and other facilities.

The education topic in projects presented gave way to housing sector.

In recent years, the scale of construction works in our country has expanded significantly. Apartment blocks are being built to meet the growing demand of the population.

A number of projects presented today to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in this direction are due in Surkhandarya region. Thus, the central Beruni Street in the city of Termez – home to the Imam Termizi International Research Center, a mosque, hotels, houses, a mahalla guzar and many enterprises – is planned to undergo reconstruction and improvement. Furthermore, energy-efficient apartment blocks and social facilities will be built in the mahallas Nurli Manzil and Lochin in Denau district of the province.

The executives briefed the President also on construction projects in Tashkent.

As you may know, on June 12 this year, the head of state visited the Almazar district of the capital and set tasks for its social and economic development. In particular, the proposals included plans to relocate part of the Tashkent district of the capital region to the Almazar district of the capital city and build new residential areas and enterprises there.

Under the project presented today, apartment blocks for more than 150 thousand people, a school, a kindergarten, a park and a commercial zone on an area of more than 200 hectares are intended to be built.

Another scheme addresses the effective use of Navruz Reception House. A major overhaul of the complex would pave way to the establishment there of a center for rehabilitation of enterprises with state participation and privatization of public assets. Relevant information for entrepreneurs will be presented here, open and transparent.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev also enquired into a project on the construction of Temurbeklar Maktabi school in Tashkent and gave corresponding directives.
