On September 2, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Islam Karimov Scientific and Enlightenment Memorial Complex, and laid flowers at the monument to the First President.
Thirty-one years ago, Islam Karimov proclaimed the national independence of our country to the whole world. It has restored our national statehood, identity and human rights, underlying all of our achievements and goals. Therefore, honoring the memory of the First President is respect for history.
A reference was made to the deeds of Islam Karimov for the sake and benefit of our people. The Surahs (verses) from the Holy Quran were recited.
The President has noted that it is necessary to always honor and remember mentors with a kind word, setting an example for the youth.
The Representatives of the Oliy Majlis (‘the National Parliament’) Chambers, the Presidential Administration, the Cabinet of Ministers, ministries and departments, the public of the capital also laid flowers at the monument to the First President.
A wreath-laying ceremonies were also held in cities of Samarkand and Karshi.
