By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been awarded the Supreme Degree «Imam Bukhariy» Order.

The award ceremony was held as a part of the Samarkand Summit of the Organization of Turkic States.

It should be noted that the Presidents of the two countries have great respect for Imam Bukhariy. At the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, the International Research Center of Imam Bukhariy and the School of Hadith Science were established near the mausoleum of the scientist. When the President of Uzbekistan announced this at the session of the United Nations General Assembly in 2017, the President of Turkey noted with satisfaction that the honorable name of the great Imam Bukhariy was heard from such a high rostrum for the first time.

The Supreme Degree «Imam Bukhariy» Order was established at the suggestion of the President of Uzbekistan this year. It is awarded to the ulamas (Islamic scientists), researchers, and writers, as well as the Heads of foreign states and governments, for special merits in the development of science, enlightenment, study, and wide promotion of the heritage of the thinkers of the Islamic world.

«This supreme award is a worthy recognition of your great merits in the wide dissemination of Islamic education, protecting the interests of Muslims throughout the world, ensuring the unity and prosperity of our Ummah (World Muslim Community), promoting religious tolerance, and educating young people in the spirit of noble deeds», Shavkat Mirziyoyev has said, addressing the Turkish colleague.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev solemnly presented the Order to Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The President of Turkey noted that he was extremely glad to receive the Order named after the great hadith compiler.

«It is a great honor and pride for me to receive this prestigious award named after Imam Bukhariy, who is the pinnacle of the science of hadith and Islamic law. Since the first meeting with Shavkat Mirziyoyev, when he quoted the legacy of Imam Bukhariy, I have developed a particular respect and warm attitude towards my dear brother. Through his efforts, scientific centers were built in Samarkand, the scientists from Turkey and Uzbekistan are closely cooperating. I accept this Order as a strong symbol of the long-standing and eternal brotherhood of our peoples, our relations developing in all spheres. On my behalf and on behalf of my people, I sincerely express my gratitude to the President and the people of Uzbekistan for this great attention», Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said.
