Upon his arrival in Baku, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Alley of Honor, the resting place of Heydar Aliyev, the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people.
Heydar Aliyev has rendered outstanding services in the building and strengthening of independent Azerbaijan. An era of the beginning of the dynamic development of the country and strengthening of its position in the international arena is closely connected with his name.
Our people know well Heydar Aliyev, who always attached great importance to deepening friendly relations with the brotherly people of Uzbekistan. The centenary of his birth was widely celebrated in our country. Postage stamps were issued, and various cultural, enlightenment, and scientific events were actively held.
In Tashkent, a street with a square and a commemorative bas-relief named in honor of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people was opened.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev laid flowers at the tomb of the great state and political figure Heydar Aliyev, paying tribute to his memory.
