Additional Heat Supply Source Launched in Chilanzar District

14.10.2023

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected a cogeneration plant installed in the Chilanzar district, Tashkent.

During the abnormally cold weather conditions last winter, there were disruptions in the heat supply. A challenging situation was also observed in the Oktepa and Boghzor makhallas, Chilanzar district. This area is home to 50 apartment buildings, 7 social institutions, and dozens of business facilities.

To prevent the recurrence of such a situation, cogeneration facilities have been launched here for the combined production of electricity and heat. They are capable of generating 4.6 megawatts of electrical power and over 29 gigacalories of heat per hour.

As part of a project implemented in collaboration with the Turkish company "Iltekno," gas piston units and "Bosch" boilers from Germany were installed. The entire heat supply infrastructure, from the boiler house to the consumers, was also reconstructed. The heat distribution network was replaced, and individual heat distribution points were installed in each residential building and social facility. A total of 13,000 meters of heating networks were converted to a closed system. The old pipes were replaced with new, insulated pipes to prevent losses.

Another efficient feature of the project is that the heat distribution points are equipped with special sensors. Depending on changes in the external temperature, the heat inside the houses is regulated at an optimal level.

As a result of the complex being put into operation, 5.3 million cubic meters of natural gas will be saved annually. Emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere will be reduced by 67 percent, and there will be no need to treat wastewater.

In the Boghzor and Oktepa makhallas, transformers have also been replaced, and new power transmission lines have been laid. Additionally, solar panels are being installed on the roofs of multi-story buildings.

The officials reported on preparation of housing and social facilities of Tashkent for the fall-winter season. The President pointed out the necessity to complete the repair works as soon as possible, to mobilize all resources of energy, supply, construction and service companies, to stabilize the energy and heat supply, to establish public control in this sphere.
