09.01.2024

On January 9, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was briefed with the presentation on the development of trade and service infrastructure and the construction of cultural and tourism facilities.

The relevant instructions were given during a videoconference held on December 18 last year. Particular emphasis was placed on the need to effectively use the significant tourist potential of our country and to increase the number of tourist attractions and accommodation facilities.

The projects presented today were discussed in accordance with these tasks.

The picturesque mountain landscapes of the Shakhrisabz district in  Kashkadarya region and Parkent district in Tashkent region attract the attention of many tourists, especially during the spring and summer seasons. In order to improve conditions for tourists, it is planned to modern recreational facilities in the villages of Miraki in Shakhrisabz, Nurabad, and Kumushkon in Parkent district.

There are also plans to build lightweight hostels on the Maidanak plateau in Kashkadarya region, to reconstruct existing buildings for trade and services, and to improve the area.

One of the tourist attractions is the markets. Today, however, some of our markets are not attractive to tourists and lack national color.

In this regard, the Head of State instructed to develop projects for market complexes that reflect our national culture. At today's presentation, the prepared preliminary projects for transforming the markets of historical cities into complexes attractive to tourists were discussed.

We should turn the markets into the “business card” of the country while preserving their unique features. Food, clothing, jewellery stores, gastronomic and entertainment facilities should complement each other harmoniously and attract buyers and tourists, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The importance of studying the relevant experiences of Turkiye and Arab countries, as well as attracting foreign specialists to the design process, was emphasized.

During the presentation, information was also presented about the markets planned to be built in tourist centers such as Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva. The head of state gave instructions to reflect the regional characteristics in the projects and to create broad conditions for tourists.

During the meeting of the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment, the President touched upon the issue of improving the activities of the Tashkent State Circus. The plans to renovate the building of this cultural institution and to construct a 300-seat training facility in order to integrate education and practice in the preparation of circus arts personnel were discussed at today's presentation.

The Head of State gave instructions for further refinement and high-quality implementation of the projects.
