First Trees Planted in Youth Park

19.03.2024

The Head of our state planted trees in the Youth Park being created in the Sergeli district of the capital.

As it is known, the national project “Yashil Makon” has been implemented on the initiative of the President since 2021. In particular, the “Green Belt” of Tashkent is being created to improve the environmental situation. The Youth Park will be an essential part of it.

The Head of State was briefed on the park’s project. Its area exceeds 75 hectares and it will be the second largest in the capital after the New Uzbekistan Park.

The park will be divided into seven major zones. Platforms for various activities, an open amphitheatre for a thousand places and gastronomic zones of national and foreign cuisine will be created on the central alley.

There will be separate places for eating outdoors and interesting activities. There will be music fountains, an open-air cinema, art exhibitions and a laser show. Sports and playgrounds, playgrounds in the style of famous fairy tales, workshops and a library will be created for children. An artificial lake, canoe, swimming pool and fishing places will delight visitors.

Today, the first trees were planted in the park with the participation of the Tashkent public, state institutions and diplomatic corps, as well as young people.

The President had a conversation with investors and designers involved in the park's creation, as well as with foreign diplomats.

Our people have long made a habit of planting trees everywhere. Amir Timur created picturesque gardens around Samarkand and ennobled other cities. We continue this work to be worthy of our great ancestors, - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Head of state talked with the countrymen who arrived in the park and congratulated them on the holiday Navruz.

In the first stage, more than a thousand chestnuts, maples, Oriental plane trees, magnolia, tui, and shrubs and flowers will be planted in the park. By the end of the project, the number will reach 20 thousand.

Another feature will be the creation of a natural landscape, forest and exotic zone in the park. The park will create more than 350 jobs.

These days, tree-planting activities are also held in the regions. In general, green zones have been created in the area of 347 hectares, 187 parks of ministries and administrations have been laid.
