On April 29 President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the head of the World Swimming Federation, Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia Husain Al-Musallam and First vice president of the Association of National Olympic Committees, president of Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani.

Topical issues of further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in the sports sphere, supporting the Olympic movement and creating conditions for developing professional and mass sports in our country were considered.

In the beginning of the meeting Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani passed to the Leader of Uzbekistan greetings and best wishes from the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. 

The achieved high level of practical cooperation with these international sports organizations was noted with satisfaction. 

Special attention was paid to strengthening partnership with the World Aquatics Federation, implementing programs for training specialists, and creating modern and accessible infrastructure for water sports in Uzbekistan.

The issues of holding major international competitions in our country, the meeting of the Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia and major events of the Association of Olympic Committees were also discussed.
