On June 23 President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation headed by the deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Minister for energy transition and transformation of water resources Fadillah bin Yusof.

The representative delegation of Malaysia is staying in our country with an official visit to hold bilateral talks and participate in the events of the UN Public Service Forum held in the city of Samarkand. 

In the beginning of the meeting the deputy Prime Minister Fadillah bin Yusof passed to the Head of our state sincere greetings and best wishes of the Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. 

Issues of further expanding Uzbek-Malaysian multifaceted relations in the context of implementing agreements of the high-level visit to Kuala Lumpur in February this year were considered.

The activation of contacts, visits and exchanges at different levels was noted with great satisfaction. Since the beginning of the year, trade turnover has increased by 25 percent. The number of joint ventures and the frequency of flights have increased. A business forum with the participation of leading companies of the two countries will be held tomorrow.

The importance of unlocking the existing potential of economic cooperation and actively promoting cooperation projects in trade, innovation, green energy, oil and gas and chemical industry, geology, water resources management, electronics and semiconductor industry, healthcare, personnel training, development of pilgrimage tourism and other priority areas was emphasized.
