President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the road tunnel built on Yangi Uzbekistan street.

The development of road infrastructure and creation of amenities for the transport movement is a constant process and particularly relevant for the capital, where the population is growing and city boundaries are expanding. 

In the past years, a park, residential complexes, university and the Olympic town were developed on Yangi Uzbekistan road. In the future this road will become one of the main highways leading to New Tashkent city. 

In this regard, a tunnel 468 meters long and 25 meters wide was built along the street, with a capacity of more than 10 thousand vehicles per hour.

Above the tunnel, a green zone has been created, ensuring safe pedestrian movement between the “Yangi Uzbekiston” park and the Olympic town.

In addition, a tunnel and a station for the future metro line have been built in this direction.

It should be noted that every project implemented in our country takes ecological aspects into consideration. The new tunnel will reduce travel time for vehicles by half, save about 1 ton of fuel per day, and decrease harmful emissions into the atmosphere by 2 tons.

The Head of State drew attention to the fact that the tunnel was built in accordance with modern standards. It was emphasized that such convenient roads create comfort for the population and contribute to the development of tourism.
