At the invitation of the President of the European Council António Costa and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay an official visit to Brussels on October 23-24.

In accordance with the program of stay in the European capital, bilateral negotiations with the heads of the main institutions of the European Union are planned.

Topical issues of further expansion and deepening of multifaceted relations in the context of the implementation of the high-level agreements reached at the Samarkand Summit in April this year will be reviewed.

The focus is on the promotion of specific projects and programs of practical cooperation in trade and economic, investment and financial, innovation, energy, transport and communication, scientific and educational and other priority spheres.

It is planned to sign on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Uzbekistan and the EU.

During the visit, the leader of Uzbekistan will also hold a meeting with the leadership of Belgium, will receive top managers of leading European companies and banks to accelerate joint plans for the development of technological and industrial cooperation.
