On November 6, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Ben Black, CEO of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), as part of his business program in Washington, D.C.
The DFC is a U.S. national development institution that mobilizes private capital for infrastructure and industrial projects in developing countries.
During the meeting, the intensive high-level contacts and expansion of trade and investment cooperation were noted with satisfaction. Major joint initiatives in the fields of energy, critical minerals, finance, transport, agriculture, and IT are being developed.
Particular attention was paid to deepening practical partnership. Specific steps were considered to accelerate the creation of a joint investment platform to finance priority projects, support small businesses, and open a regional office of the corporation in Tashkent.
The Head of our state also emphasized the importance of the Corporation's participation in the implementation of infrastructure projects based on public-private partnerships.
