On December 24,  President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on his birthday during a telephone conversation. 

The Head of our state especially noted the historical role of the leader of Azerbaijan in strengthening independence, uniting the country, ensuring it sustainable development and increasing international authority. 

Topical issues of further expanding and strengthening of Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations of friendship and alliance in the context of implementing high-level agreements, were reviewed.

The fruitful results of the joint work during the current Year of economic cooperation were noted with satisfaction. 

The productive contacts and exchanges on all levels continue. The volumes of trade turnover are growing, projects in 20 priority areas based on the “road map” are in active phase of implementation.

The intensive program of cultural and humanitarian exchange is being implemented. 

The leaders of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan also exchanged views on the international agenda, reviewed the schedule of upcoming events.
