Residents trained to earn up to 250 million soums from household plots

27.04.2026

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the work of the “Quva-Agro Star” enterprise during his visit to the Fergana region.

In Uzbekistan’s agriculture sector, special attention is paid not only to crop cultivation but also to generating higher added value, expanding processing volumes, and promoting exports. To this end, the “Uzagrostar Holding” company was established, under which specialized agro-industrial complexes are now operating across 21 districts.

One of the main challenges in the sector has been the fragmentation of the production chain. While dehkhans cultivated produce, their access to storage, sorting, packaging, and foreign markets remained limited. Specialized agro-complexes are addressing this gap.

Among such enterprises is “Quva-Agro Star,” located in the Quva district, where the complex integrates the full production cycle—from cultivation to storage, processing, packaging, and export—into a single integrated chain, covering 12 types of products with an annual capacity of 5,000 tons.

The introduction of modern technologies from Italy, Spain, Germany, and China, along with international certifications such as GlobalG.A.P., ISO 22000, Halal, and HACCP, is strengthening product quality and enhancing confidence in the national brand.

As a result of this systematic approach, in 2025, products were exported by air for the first time to demanding markets such as Japan and South Korea. This year, export volumes are projected to reach $25 million.

The enterprise has established cooperative links with 3,000 households across 33 mahallas, as well as 1,000 dehkhans in the district. Residents are being trained to earn up to 250 million soums from a 0.1-hectare household plot.

A presentation was also given on the ongoing work to train the population in the effective use of household plots and the deep specialization of mahallas.

It was noted that a household plot should become not just an additional source of income, but an effective direction for family entrepreneurship. The necessity of teaching the population practical skills in seed selection, the proper implementation of agrotechnical measures, obtaining a quality harvest, preparing products in accordance with market demand, and packaging goods in line with export standards was emphasized.

The Head of State highly commended the results achieved by “Quva-Agro Star,” highlighting the importance of efficient land use, deep processing, and export-oriented production in creating high added value and, most importantly, in significantly increasing the incomes of dehkhans and household plot owners. It was also determined that, for these purposes, an agricultural system based on advanced agrarian technologies will be introduced on an experimental basis across 50,000 hectares in the Fergana region.
