President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the projects being implemented at a new tourist complex developed on the site of the Karkidon reservoir in the Quva district.
The site is expected to become one of the most attractive destinations for ecotourism and active recreation in the Fergana Valley.
In accordance with a Presidential decree dated April 1, 2025, a modern tourist complex worth 635 billion soums is being developed. Road infrastructure across the site has been upgraded, and landscaping work is ongoing.
The complex, covering 508 hectares, combines opportunities for agritourism, ecotourism, and extreme tourism, featuring 45 chalets, 57 modern guesthouses, an agritourism complex, a flower park, lavender fields, an eco-bazaar, quiet retreats, and restaurants.
While reviewing the conditions created, the Head of State noted that such projects are crucial for improving public well-being, developing the regional economy, and enhancing the country’s tourism potential. He emphasized that tourism is an effective means of promoting the country internationally, creating jobs, and expanding service exports.
The project plans to establish more than 100 business entities and create around 2,000 jobs. The complex is expected to host up to 750,000 visitors annually, generate 3 billion soums in budget revenues, and export services worth $5 million. Full commissioning of the complex is scheduled for 2027.
In the future, motocross tracks, a 2-kilometer cable car, as well as karting and golf courses will be developed. These facilities will help transform the Karkidon complex into one of the flagship centers for active tourism.
Responsible officials were instructed to further develop the tourism and service sectors, create comfortable conditions for both domestic and international tourists, and establish a sustainable system that serves the interests of the population.
The President also reviewed the operations of a new hotel and shopping centers, and future tourism projects were presented.
In particular, the construction of major tourist complexes is planned around Karateren Lake in the Takhtakupyr district, an artificial lake in the Khanabad district, the Kuksaray reservoir in the Khatyrchi district, Arashan Lake in the Pap district, the Sabirsay reservoir in the Nurabad district, and the Kattakurgan reservoir in the Kattakurgan district.
Such projects will contribute to expanding the country’s tourism potential, developing the service sector in the regions, and increasing household incomes.
