Deep respect expressed for veterans who embody courage and fortitude

08.05.2026

On May 8, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited participants of the Second World War and veterans of the labor front, congratulating them on the holiday.

At the Central Military Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Defense, the Head of State held a warm conversation with Akmal ota Akramov, Vera Zhuravskaya, Khasanboy ota Khalmatov, and Vladimir Alekseykov, asked about their health and well-being, especially noting their difficult life paths and remarkable courage.

“You are living witnesses to history, symbols of courage and fortitude. Meetings with such respected people as you and the opportunity to listen to your guidance give us immense spiritual support. Our people are rightfully proud of you. Today’s peaceful and free days, and the happy fate of future generations, are the result of your unparalleled selfless labor. Your exemplary life path is a true school of courage and fortitude for our youth,” the President said.

In accordance with the Presidential Decree dated April 16 this year, special attention and comprehensive support are being provided to war participants and veterans of the labor front.

Participants of the Second World War, veterans of the labor front, as well as the families of servicemen who lost their lives in the line of duty during the years of independence, remain under the constant care of the state. Alongside material and moral support, they are provided with subsidized vouchers to leading health resorts across the country to improve their health.

“As a reward for your patriotism and selfless service, the Almighty has granted you long life and the happiness of living in the honor and respect of the people. Your prayers bring well-being to our country and success to our endeavors,” the President said.

At the meeting, the veterans expressed gratitude to the Head of State for the ongoing efforts aimed at restoring historical memory and honoring the older generation.
