Promising chemical industry development projects presented

02.06.2026

Industrial modernization, the production of high-value-added products, and the expansion of export potential are among the priority areas of economic development.

The Chirchik Chemical-Industrial Technopark, created to implement these objectives, has become one of the country’s new-generation industrial sites.

Established in accordance with the Presidential Decree dated February 3, 2022, the technopark serves to promote the deep processing of chemical products, the introduction of advanced technologies, and the creation of favorable conditions for domestic and foreign investors. A total of $25 million has been allocated for the development of engineering and utility networks and modern infrastructure across its 26.4-hectare territory.

The technopark’s investment attractiveness is reflected in concrete results. In 2025, $56 million in investments were utilized and 758 new jobs were created. During the year, enterprises produced more than 150 types of products worth $60 million.

The long-term plans are also ambitious. By 2030, investments are projected to reach $207 million, commercial output $294 million, and exports $48 million, while the number of jobs is expected to increase to 2,300.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was also presented with an overview of the technopark’s work, as well as scientific and practical projects for the development of the chemical industry.

Today, mineral fertilizer production plays an important role in ensuring the sustainability of the agricultural sector. Despite annual output of 3.7 million tons, continued demand for imported phosphate and water-soluble fertilizers highlights the need for further modernization of the industry. In this regard, investment projects worth $2.8 billion have been developed.

Domestic demand for polymers is also growing in the petrochemical sector. According to projections, it is expected to reach 3.2 million tons by 2032. The implementation of major projects, including the production of olefins from coal in Angren and oil refining in Kungrad, will enable the country to fully meet this demand and promote import substitution.

Systematic efforts are also underway in the household chemicals sector. Plans envisage halving import volumes, increasing the share of domestic consumption met by locally produced goods to 64 percent, and expanding exports through the implementation of investment projects.
