On June 25, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received United States Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.

At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the U.S. agency conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from U.S. President Donald Trump to the President of Uzbekistan.

The parties discussed current issues related to the further strengthening of the Uzbekistan–U.S. strategic partnership, with particular emphasis on trade and economic cooperation.

The sides expressed satisfaction with the growing momentum in business contacts and the steady growth of bilateral trade and investment.

The practical outcomes of the roundtable with American businesses, held recently as part of the Tashkent International Investment Forum, were discussed.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation in the context of Uzbekistan's accession to the WTO and continued U.S. support for this process.

The parties noted the importance of the effective use of the mechanism of the U.S.–Uzbekistan Business and Investment Council for identifying and promoting new project initiatives.
