As part of his visit to Bekabad, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the development work carried out along the Khos Yoz Canal and in the Dustlik mahalla.
The once-abandoned area along the Khos Yoz Canal, which had long remained untidy and neglected, has now been transformed into one of the city's most picturesque places. A modern public space with all the necessary amenities has been created within walking distance of the surrounding mahallas.
As part of the master plan for the area's comprehensive development, a dedicated 3-kilometer pedestrian walkway, 5.4 kilometers of protective fencing, and two bridges have been constructed. In addition, 27 new retail outlets and modern service facilities have opened along the embankment, creating 167 permanent jobs.
The Head of State spoke with young people engaged in sports.
Today, the Dustlik mahalla covers an area of 28 hectares. It comprises 33 apartment buildings, a private preschool, a football field, 16 sports and children's playgrounds, and a library.
This year, entrepreneurs invested 1.1 billion soums in the establishment of 10 service facilities and one public catering establishment, creating 25 new jobs. In addition, an initiative group financed the construction of Vatanparvar Park, featuring displays of military equipment and service facilities.
Using funds from the Initiative Budget program, the Bekabad City Museum was established in the mahalla. A wooden summer pavilion has been built for the recreation of senior residents and labor veterans, as well as for holding meetings, roundtable discussions, and spiritual and educational events.
The Head of State inspected the development work carried out in the mahalla and the conditions created for residents, and held a warm conversation with mahalla activists and labor veterans.
"All our actions, the facilities being built, and the projects being implemented must, first and foremost, serve the people and improve their quality of life. People should feel the changes taking place in their mahalla and their city, and see their impact in everyday life.
Every time we visit the regions, we must ensure that people feel the spirit of the New Uzbekistan's reforms, the momentum of renewal and progress. Bekabad, with its hardworking and dedicated people, talented youth, and wise elders with rich life experience, must become an even more prosperous and well-developed city.
We will mobilize every opportunity to ensure that the dreams and aspirations of our young people, as well as the noble intentions and goals of the older generation, become a reality," the President said.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev concluded his visit to Bekabad and returned to Tashkent.
