On August 23, at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, accompanied by his wife, arrived in Uzbekistan on a state visit.
At Tashkent-Humo International Airport, the distinguished guests were welcomed by the President and the First Lady of Uzbekistan.
The national flags of the two countries were raised, and a guard of honor was lined up.
In accordance with the visit program, the leaders of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan will hold high-level talks today and co-chair the third meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council.
Following the summit, a substantial package of agreements is expected to be signed, and a number of economic and humanitarian projects will be launched.
