The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić took part in a joint business forum.
The forum brought together more than 200 government and business representatives, including heads of leading industrial and trading companies from the two countries.
The Serbian business community was represented by companies such as Galenika, AbelaPharm, Goša FOM, Yumco, Luss Textile, and many others.
In his address, the President of Uzbekistan noted that the productive high-level talks have opened a new chapter in bilateral relations. Their main outcome was the establishment of a strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Serbia.
Bilateral trade is set to increase manifold by expanding the range of goods traded and simplifying customs procedures. To develop industrial cooperation, a joint Action Plan for 2026-2028 has been adopted.
The President of Uzbekistan outlined key areas for further economic partnership. These include establishing joint production of textile and electrical products, automotive and industrial components, localizing pharmaceutical production, deep processing of fruit and vegetable products, and implementing projects in the field of software and artificial intelligence.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed readiness to create favorable investment and business conditions for Serbian business in the country, as well as to provide practical assistance in implementing each joint project.
Following the forum, a number of bilateral economic agreements and trade contracts were signed.
