President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the improvements carried out and the conditions created for residents of Kichkirik mahalla in the capital’s Almazar district.

Established more than thirty years ago, the mahalla comprises 23 apartment buildings with 1,416 apartments and a population of more than 5,400.

As a result of the transformation carried out in accordance with the Presidential Decree of June 25, 2024, “On Additional Measures to Improve and Landscape Mahallas and Fundamentally Enhance Their Appearance,” the mahalla has taken on an entirely new look.

A total of 71.4 billion soums was allocated from the local budget for the project, implemented under the Obod Mahalla state program. As a result, the mahalla has been transformed into an environmentally friendly space reflecting a modern green urban environment.

One of the key improvements was the creation of a 2.4-kilometer promenade along the Kichkirikcanal. It has become a comfortable and well-maintained recreational area for residents.

A total of 12.4 kilometers of pedestrian walkways have been laid, and additional green space has been created. An aivan, 14 gazebos, a water wheel, and fountains have been built over the water.

Today, around 6,500 ornamental and fruit trees grow throughout the mahalla. The facades of residential buildings have also been renovated, and hundreds of benches and lighting fixtures have been installed for residents.

The mahalla also provides the necessary facilities for young people, including 12 workout areas, three football fields, and libraries.

Entrepreneurship is developing actively in the mahalla. A total of 47 business entities operate here, while new projects have created 61 jobs.

The Head of State instructed responsible officials to take measures to ensure employment and reduce poverty.

A special system for addressing these issues is also being introduced in Kichkirik mahalla.

In particular, local resident Gulnora Goyipova has established pottery and weaving workshops, where unemployed young people and women from the mahalla learn traditional crafts through the master-apprentice system.

The mahalla has also introduced one of the country’s first modern automated parking towers. The eight-story structure uses a central elevator to lift vehicles and place them in available spaces on either side. As a result, a small plot of land that could previously accommodate only a few vehicles can now hold up to 16 cars at a time.

An amphitheater has also been built for cultural activities, public events, and community gatherings.

Extensive construction and renovation work has been carried out at the two state kindergartens in the mahalla.

The President inspected the conditions created at one of them, Kindergarten No. 441.

Built in 1976, the kindergarten has now been significantly expanded. Two new buildings with a combined capacity of 450 children have been constructed on previously unused land, increasing the kindergarten’s total capacity to 835.

The kindergarten places particular emphasis on children’s health. A special salt room has been created to strengthen immunity and help prevent respiratory diseases.

To support children’s comprehensive development, the kindergarten also offers additional classes in English, mental arithmetic, fine arts, music, rhythmic gymnastics, chess, and taekwondo.

The President was briefed on the capabilities of the interactive platform “Learning Uzbek through Play.”

Through engaging games and digital technologies, the platform helps children learn the state language while developing independent thinking and practical life skills and introducing them to various professions.

The President also visited the kindergarten’s road safety club. He emphasized the importance of introducing similar clubs at other kindergartens and fostering safe road behavior among children from an early age.
