President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the First Lady of Uzbekistan took part in the cultural program of the OTS Summit in Ankara, together with the heads of delegations of the Organization of Turkic States member states and their spouses.
The leaders opened the Park of Civilizations of Turkic States at the Beştepe complex in Ankara.
The park features pavilions representing the Turkic states, including traditional yurts and exhibitions of national applied arts. The displays showcase the rich historical, cultural, and architectural heritage of the Turkic peoples, their achievements in science and education, the uniqueness of their traditions, and their modern development.
The heads of state viewed a reproduction of the ancient Orkhon inscriptions, a monument of Turkic writing. National games were also demonstrated, along with performances by archers and warriors in historical costumes. The leaders then planted oak saplings.
Such initiatives were noted as important for preserving historical memory and cultural heritage, ensuring continuity between generations, and further strengthening brotherly ties among peoples united by shared spiritual values and traditions.
The leaders then visited the Malazgirt Center, named after the Battle of Manzikert, which took place on August 26, 1071, and played an important role in the history of the Turkic peoples.
The distinguished guests watched an epic performance featuring riders, acrobats, and stunt performers, as well as horses from the Organization’s member states.
